Meredith Davies was the first teacher to start a weekly 5Rhythms class in Melbourne in 2003. Five years later Madhuma Thompson began a second weekly class and initiated a monthly Sweat Your Prayers, and now more than a decade later, with Meredith’s husband David Juriansz joining the teaching field, they have grown a huge dancing tribe. The weekly ‘Tuesday Tsunami Wave’ in North Fitzroy may be one of the biggest weekly 5R classes in the world ~ a pulsating, deep ride for over 150 dancers. With sometimes 6 classes a week, workshops with international teachers, a growing roster of local teachers and more in training, Melbourne is a vibrant 5Rhythms dance community.
'I have nature and art and poetry, and if that is not enough, what is enough?'
Vincent Van Gogh
This workshop explores and challenges the societal forces that manufacture compare-despair & discontent. It aims to restore our sense of having, doing, giving and simply being enough.
We investigate Enough with 2 different perspectives: David using the language of Waves, our physical exploration and Meredith offering Heartbeat, the emotional map of the 5Rhythms. Both investigating our experience of lack, jealousy, overwhelm, distraction and avoidance, all the way through to a sense of enough. Breathing life into places where we get stuck in either not enough, too much and everything in between.
Taking inspiration from Van Gogh’s words, we’ll reclaim our true creative nature. With music, movement, poetry, space and silence we’ll cultivate individual and collective appreciation of what is quite simply… enough.
Meredith & David: For more than 2 decades, Meredith Davies and David Juriansz have been a dynamic duo for 5Rhythms in Australia. Their weekly Melbourne & Castlemaine classes are a 5Rhythms mecca for conscious dance travellers from around the world. Their pioneering spirit helped nurture many movement teachers whilst turning thousands of people onto 5Rhythms and conscious dance practices.Collectively they bring 35 years of shared 5Rhythms teaching experience. This workshop will blend Meredith’s deep embodiment & playful, compassionate exploration of the emotional heartbeat landscape with David’s wise storytelling, musical mastery and comic sensibility.
Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms has been a global movement practice for 40 years and Moving Essence started the first weekly classes in Melbourne 20 years ago. Workshops offer a deeper experience of process through this life-changing work.

Enough – Pricing
Given the theme of the ‘Enough workshop’, we offer dancers a chance to reflect on what they can afford via a segmented sliding scale.
We have a broad range of financial capacity in our community. We invite you to pay what is ‘enough for you’ to afford. We offer this without judgement. We wouldn’t have created this payment method if we were not genuinely interested in exploring the theme of “enough”.
Our booking system doesn’t allow you to choose an amount. So we have listed here FOUR COUPON CODES which reduce the workshop price by a percentage.
NO COUPON USED = Pay the $300 Workshop Price
ME25 (25% reduction) = Pay $225
ME50 (50% reduction) = Pay $150
ME75 (75% reduction) = Pay $75
ME100 (100% reduction) = Pay nothing
We offer the ‘pay nothing’ option with the consideration that some exchange may be possible: either food, volunteering, cleaning or gift of your energy like bodywork, gardening etc. Please email us directly at 5Rhythms@movingessence.com before booking this option.
The other category ‘pay it forward’ invites members of our dance community to join us in paying $50 extra to help create subsidised places for those who need it. You can apply the % coupon code to this amount also, adding price levels to the sliding scale.

Rivka Honeybee Worth | Naarm, Melbourne, AUS
Rivka has been a student of Body-Mind Centering® since 2000 and recently graduated the Somatic Movement Educator (SME) program in 2024. Rivka has been dancing 5Rhythms since 1991 and has been a certified teacher since 2014. With several decades of embodied experience in these modalities, plus more, she has designed a system that interweaves the somatic education with the dance wave. This workshop has been offered several times and continues to develop in it's form. Each time, Rivka has witnessed participants deepen their sense of self and their connection to their practice. Cells awaken to themselves, supporting balance, efficiency, clarity and ease. Movement possibilities have been enriched and expanded. Dancers have experienced a newborn embodied awareness.
At 19 I was thrown into facilitating community dance for young people with disabilities and thirty years later, in my 50's, I continue to enjoy supporting a broad diversity of people to move and express freely in their bodies. My teaching has moved thousands of different people in health, justice, education, arts, remote and environmental settings. Dance floors range from inner city halls, leafy forest beds, community gymnasiums to red desert earth. My qualifications include three decades of community dance leadership, including BA Dance Uni SA, Certified 5Rhythms® teacher & Certified The 360 Emergence facilitator, Somatic Movement Educator, (BMC), Certified The Work that Reconnects Facilitator & Futuring Trainer. I have worked extensively in Community Dance, Community Cultural Development, Improvisation Practice, Somatic Practice and as a professional Choreographer, Artistic Director and Production Manager. I specialise in Ecosomatics and in Ceremonial Dance, where sacred connection and transformation are individually and collectively embodied. I focus on cultivating a symbiotic relationship with Nature through Eco Soma™, Ecosomatic practice.
